Zora Hesová is assistant professor at the Department for Political Science at Faculty of Arts, Charles University, in Prague, and a research fellow at the Institute for Philosophy, Czech Academy of Sciences. She works on Islamic thought and modern Islam in Europe, and, more generally, on religion in contemporary politics, with a particular focus on Central and South-Eastern Europe. She led research projects on culture wars in Central Europe and on the consequences of societal polarisation. She has published and edited books on the philosophy of Abu Hamid al-Ghazali and on Abdolkarim Soroush, and on “Central European Culture Wars” and research articles on contemporary Islam in Bosnia, Central European political conflicts, and Islamophobia.

Zora Hesová est maîtresse de conférences au Département de sciences politiques de la Faculté des lettres de l'Université Charles à Prague et chercheuse à l'Institut de philosophie de l'Académie tchèque des sciences. Elle travaille sur la traditoin intellectuelle islamique et l'islam moderne en Europe et, plus généralement, sur la religion dans la politique contemporaine, avec une attention particulière pour l'Europe centrale et du Sud-Est. Elle a dirigé des projets de recherche sur les guerres culturelles en Europe centrale et sur les conséquences de la polarisation sociétale. Elle a publié et édité des ouvrages sur la philosophie d'Abu Hamid al-Ghazali et sur Abdolkarim Soroush, ainsi que sur les "Guerres culturelles en Europe centrale", et des articles de recherche sur l'islam contemporain en Bosnie, les conflits politiques en Europe centrale et l'islamophobie.
