Diplômée d’un master d’anthropologie à l’EHESS en 2023. Je suis désormais doctorante contractuelle en anthropologie à l’EHESS, sous la direction de Vincent Fourniau et la codirection de Carole Ferret, pour une thèse intitulée « Les techniques pastorales et la construction du genre au Kirghizstan. Espaces et espèces ».

Au Kirghizstan, pays montagneux d’Asie centrale, le pastoralisme représente l’activité économique d’ordre familiale la plus répandue en milieu rural. Ce type d’élevage à caractère extensif de quatre espèces principales (chevaux, vaches, moutons et chèvres) nécessite la maîtrise de nombreuses techniques et une connaissance des animaux et de l’environnement afin d’œuvrer au bon fonctionnement de ce système socio-technique. Le pastoralisme induit une relation spécifique des éleveurs aux animaux et au territoire, qui sera étudiée à travers une typologisation des actions menées. En outre, ces pratiques pastorales sont exercées par les membres de la famille élargie, à travers une division genrée du travail.

I graduated from EHESS in 2023 with a master's degree in anthropology. I am currently a contract PhD student in anthropology at EHESS, under the direction of Vincent Fourniau and the co-direction of Carole Ferret, for a thesis entitled "Pastoral techniques and the construction of gender in Kyrgyzstan. Spaces and species".

In Kyrgyzstan, a mountainous country in Central Asia, pastoralism is the most widespread family-based economic activity in rural areas. This type of extensive farming of four main species (horses, cows, sheep and goats) requires the mastery of a number of techniques and a knowledge of the animals and the environment in order to ensure the smooth running of this socio-technical system. Pastoralism implies a specific relationship between farmers and their animals and the land, which will be studied through a typology of the actions carried out. In addition, these pastoral practices are carried out by members of the extended family, through a gendered division of labour.
