Soutien du CETOBaC aux candidates et candidats aux concours 2020 de chargés de recherches au CNRS

Avis aux candidates et candidats au concours chercheurs 2020 du CNRS(English version below)

 

Bonjour,

Le concours chercheurs du CNRS est à présent ouvert. Les candidates et candidats qui souhaiteraient solliciter le soutien du Centre d’études turques, ottomanes, balkaniques et centrasiatiques (CETOBaC) au titre des sections 32, 33, 35, 36, 38, 39, 40 ou CID 53 du Comité national, sont invités à prendre rapidement contact avec l’équipe de direction du laboratoire, en adressant à <dir.cetobac [at] ehess [point] fr> avant le 12 décembre 2019 :

- un projet de recherches, aussi abouti que possible ;

- une lettre de motivation détaillant les liens entre ce projet et les recherches du CETOBaC ;

- un CV incluant liste de publications et résumé de la thèse ;

- le rapport de soutenance (si disponible) ;

- une publication significative (format pdf).

Les dossiers seront examinés par le conseil de laboratoire du 19 décembre prochain et les réponses communiquées aux candidat.e.s le 20 décembre. Des auditions blanches seront par la suite organisées en cas de convocation aux oraux.

Le Centre d’études turques, ottomanes, balkaniques et centrasiatiques (CETOBaC, UMR 8032, CNRS / Collège de France / EHESS) organise, enseigne et valorise les recherches concernant un vaste domaine d’études, portant sur les passés et présents de la Turquie, de l’ensemble des régions autrefois incluses dans l’Empire ottoman (Balkans et Proche-Orient), et de l'Asie centrale. Il est en Europe le seul laboratoire de ce format. Sa composition est pluridisciplinaire : son effectif réunit historiens, sociologues, anthropologues et politistes.

Dear colleagues,

The French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) just advertised the opening of some 250 permanent research positions in all fields, including the humanities and the social sciences.

These include for instance several early career tenured positions ("chargés de recherche"):

7 in ancient and medieval history,

4 in early modern and modern history,

4 positions in anthropology,

3 positions in sociology and law,

4 positions  in political science, etc.

Deadline for applying is January 7, 2020, 12 pm UTC +1. (For details see "Links" below.)

CNRS welcomes applications in English as well as in French. Yet before you think of applying, please be advised that interviews with shortlisted applicants are usually being held in French.

Applicants for newly opened research positions at CNRS may request the Centre for Turkish, Ottoman, Balkan and Central Asian Studies (a.k.a. CETOBaC) to support their application. CETOBaC is a joint research unit of CNRS, the Collège de France and the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences and the Humanities (EHESS) in Paris. Its mission is to develop and disseminate academic research on past and present Turkey, regions of the former Ottoman world such as the Balkans, the Caucasus and the Middle East, as well as Central Asia. It forms the largest European research centre of this kind fully dedicated to field research, higher education and outreach activities related to this vast field of study. CETOBaC's multidisciplinary make-up allows anthropologists, historians, linguists and social scientists to work together on common projects.

- a draft research project;

- a statement of purpose, explaining how your research would contribute to CETOBaC's main fields and orientations (see hyperlinks provided below);

- a curriculum vitae including a list of publications and a PhD dissertation abstract.

Confirmations of support will be sent to selected applicants by December, 20.
