Ewa Anna Kumelowski is a historian of 20^th Century Yugoslav cultural history with a special interest in the overlap between conflict and culture. She has received a joint BA in political science from the Freie Univeristät Berlin and Sciences Po Paris, after which she completed her MA in history at the Doctoral School of Sciences Po Paris in 2018. She completed her PhD at the Chair of Southeastern History at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and the CETOBaC at the EHESS in Paris with the support of the Elsa Neumann Stiftung, through which she discussed the history of narrative production within the visual arts scene of besieged Sarajevo.  Her research interests focus on expressions of everyday experiences in war, particularly amongst marginalized or otherwise overlooked populations, and the numerous roles of culture within armed conflicts. She is an expert in late 20^th Century and early 21^stCentury Bosnian art history, with further research interests primarily encompassing the study of a common Yugoslav cultural sphere, manifestations of transnational cultural transfers in the South-Eastern European sphere, as well as micro-historical methodologies of studying the social history of war.

Ewa Anna Kumelowski est une historienne de l'histoire culturelle yougoslave du XX^e siècle, avec un intérêt particulier pour le chevauchement entre conflit et culture. Elle a obtenu une double licence en sciences politiques de la Freie Univeristät Berlin et de Sciences Po Paris, après quoi elle a obtenu une maîtrise en histoire à l'École doctorale de Sciences Po Paris en 2018. Elle a effectué son doctorat à la Chaire d'histoire du Sud-Est de la Humboldt Universität zu Berlin et au CETOBaC de l'EHESS à Paris avec le soutien de la Elsa Neumann Stiftung, à travers lequel elle a abordé l'histoire de la production narrative au sein de la scène des arts visuels de Sarajevo assiégée.  Ses recherches portent sur l'expression des expériences quotidiennes en temps de guerre, en particulier parmi les populations marginalisées ou autrement négligées, et sur les nombreux rôles de la culture dans les conflits armés. Elle est experte en histoire de l'art bosniaque de la fin du XX^e siècle et du début du XXI^e siècle, et ses autres intérêts de recherche englobent principalement l'étude d'une sphère culturelle yougoslave commune, les manifestations des transferts culturels transnationaux dans la sphère de l'Europe du Sud-Est, ainsi que les méthodologies micro-historiques d'étude de l'histoire sociale de la guerre.
