I am a historian of Europe and the Middle East in the 20^th century. I am pursuing a joint doctoral degree (cotutelle de thèse) in Middle East Studies/History at Leiden University and École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS). My PhD project, titled “The French Radical Party and the Making of Kemalism (1901-1939),” studies the transnational political and intellectual history of French Radicalism and Turkish Kemalism. Currently I teach at Sciences Po Paris; and I am a Research Fellow at the French Institute of Anatolian Studies. Earlier I was a research fellow at the Leibniz-Institut für Europäische Geschichte in Mainz, Germany. For my BA degree, I studied History at Boğaziçi University and École Normale Supérieure de la Rue d’Ulm. I hold a MA degree (cum laude) in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from Leiden University.
I am specialized in the political and intellectual entanglements of Young Turk, Kemalist, and French Radical politicians and ideologues during the era of the French Third Republic (1870-1940) as well as the global intellectual history of the Republican, Radical, and Socialist Radical Party (Parti républicain, radical et radical-socialiste) of France. My research contributes to connected histories of Europe and the Middle East.

Je suis historien de l'Europe et du Moyen-Orient au XX^e siècle. Je poursuis une cotutelle de thèse en études et histoire du Moyen-Orient à l'Université de Leiden et à l'École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS). Mon projet de doctorat, intitulé "The French Radical Party and the Making of Kemalism (1901-1939)", étudie l'histoire politique et intellectuelle transnationale du radicalisme français et du kémalisme turc. J'enseigne actuellement à Sciences Po Paris et je suis chercheur à l'Institut français d'études anatoliennes (IFEA). Auparavant, j'étais chercheur à l'Institut Leibniz pour l'histoire européenne (IEG) de Mayence, en Allemagne. Pour ma licence, j'ai étudié l'histoire à l'Université de Boğaziçi et à l'École Normale Supérieure de la Rue d'Ulm. Je suis titulaire d'un Master (cum laude) en études modernes du Moyen-Orient de l'Université de Leiden.
Je suis spécialisé dans les liens politiques et intellectuels entre les politiciens et idéologues Jeunes Turcs, kémalistes et radicaux français à l'époque de la Troisième République française (1870-1940), ainsi que dans l'histoire intellectuelle globale du Parti républicain, radical et radical-socialiste de France. Mes recherches contribuent aux histoires connectées de l'Europe et du Moyen-Orient
