Jean-Pierre Liotard-Vogt est diplômé d’un master en Hongrois mention Histoire et Sciences Sociales de l’INALCO en 2017 pour lequel il a été lauréat du prix Hungaricana en 2018. Il a entamé la même année une thèse à l’université Paris 1-Sorbonne (Ecole doctorale d’histoire) sous la direction de Catherine Horel. Il vient de rejoindre l’EHESS (Laboratoire CETOBaC) en 2021.
Sa thèse de doctorat est une biographie politique de la social-démocrate hongroise Anna Kéthly (1889-1976). Elle rend compte d’une vie militante faite de bifurcations et de ruptures en lien avec la destinée autoritaire puis totalitaire de son pays. Députée dès 1922, dirigeante syndicale, journaliste, figure majeure de l’exil après l’échec de l’insurrection de 1956, Anna Kéthly est restée jusqu’à sa mort d’une fidélité têtue aux idéaux de sa jeunesse. Ce travail, tente de nouer histoire des femmes et du genre, histoire du mouvement ouvrier hongrois, histoire transnationale et politique de l’exil enfin.

Jean-Pierre Liotard-Vogt obtained a master’s degree in History and Social Sciences from INALCO in 2017, for which he awarded the Hungarica Prize in 2018. He began the same year a PHD at Paris 1-Sorbonne (Ecole doctorale d'histoire) under the supervision of Catherine Horel. He has just joined the EHESS in 2021.
His thesis is a political biography of the Hungarian social democrat Anna Kéthly (1889-1976). It gives an account of a militant life made of bifurcations and ruptures in connection with the authoritarian and then totalitarian destiny of her country. Deputy since 1922, trade union leader, journalist, major figure of the exile after the failure of the insurrection of 1956, Anna Kéthly remained until her death stubbornly faithful to the ideals of her youth. This work attempts to link Women's and Gender History, History of the Hungarian Labor Movement, Transnational History and Politics of Exile.
