Diplômée de l’Université de Düsseldorf et de l’Institut d’Etudes Politiques/Sciences-Po Paris, je suis actuellement doctorante au CETOBaC/EHESS depuis 2017, sous la direction de Nathalie CLAYER.
Dans ma thèse, j’analyse, à travers quatre études de cas, dans quelle mesure les associations ont contribué et ont été façonnées par les processus de construction et de démantèlement étatique au Kosovo dans les années 1990 et 2000. En effet, il y a au Kosovo un double mouvement de transformation du pouvoir et des légitimités étatiques : d’une part, le démantèlement de la République Fédérale Socialiste de Yougoslavie; et d’autre part, un processus de construction étatique, avec la constitution d’institutions étatiques « parallèles » kosovo-albanaises dans les années 1990, et dans les années 2000, sous tutelle de l’ONU, la mise en place d’« institutions provisoires d’autogouvernement » kosovares – non reconnues par les institutions « parallèles » (kosovo-)serbes. Ces configurations changeantes ont obligé les associations à constamment réajuster leurs interactions avec les différentes instances étatiques et ont transformé, plus généralement, les relations et frontières entre l’Etat et le non-étatique.

A graduate from Düsseldorf University and from the « Institut d’Etudes Politiques »/Sciences-Po Paris, I am currently a doctoral researcher at the Center for Turkish, Ottoman, Balkan, and Central Asian Studies of the EHESS since 2017, under the supervision of Nathalie CLAYER.
My PhD thesis examines in how far (voluntary) associations have contributed and have been shaped by the processes of state-building and state-dismantlement in Kosovo in the 1990s and 2000s. This period was characterised, on the one hand, by the progressive dismantlement of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia; and on the other, by a process of constructing a Kosovan state: in the 1990s Kosovo-Albanian “parallel” government institutions were set up, replaced in the 2000s by Kosovan “Provisional Institutions of Self-Government” under UN umbrella, which however were not recognised by (Kosovo-)Serb “parallel” institutions. Drawing on four case studies, I analyse how associations navigated between these different, changing government authorities, and how associations contributed to remodel the boundaries between state and non-state.
