Dilşa Deniz

Dilşa Deniz is a socio-cultural anthropologist and the Lecturer in University of New Hampshire. Her academic research focuses on the cultural and religious practices of Alevis Kurdish communities in Turkey. She focuses particularly on the practices and beliefs of Kurdish communities associated with the city of Dersim, an ancient urban center in Anatolia. Dr. Deniz holds a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology from Yeditepe University and an M.A in Women’s Studies from Istanbul University. She has published a number of articles and book chapters.
