Claudia Römer, originaire de Vienne, travaillait vers la fin de ses études (turcologie et études arabes, université de Vienne) et après dans un projet d’édition de documents ottomans (1979-1984), puis en tant qu’assistante à l’institut d’études orientales de l’université de Vienne https://orientalistik.univie.ac.at/ (1985), où elle fit son habilitation en 1992, à la suite elle y devint professeure associée. Elle était chargée avec la rédaction de la revue WZKM (1985-2004, 2010-2011). Depuis 2009, elle est membre associé du CETOBaC, ayant commencé l’exploitation du manuscrit ÖNB mxt. 270 en collaboration avec le regretté Gilles Veinstein et Nicolas Vatin, travail qui est toujours continué. Elle appartient au comité de redaction de Turcica. A partir de 2000 elle est membre, depuis 2018 présidente du Wiener Archäographisches Forum https://waf.cvl.tuwien.ac.at/. Depuis 2017 elle est avec Thomas Wallnig co-directrice du projet « The Oriental Outpost of the Republic of Letters. Sebastian Tengnagel (d. 1636), the Imperial Library in Vienna, and Knowledge about the Orient” (https://geschichtsforschung.univie.ac.at/forschung/oorpl/). Elle a pris sa retraite le 1eroctobre 2021.
Claudia Römer, of Viennese origin, At the end of her studies (Turkish and Arabic Studies at the University of Vienna) and afterwards she worked in an edition project of Ottoman documents (1979-1984), became assistant professor at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the University of Vienna https://orientalistik.univie.ac.at/ (1985), where she got her “habilitation” in 1992. Subsequently, she became Associate Professor at the same institute. She was the editor of WZKM (1985-2004, 2010-2011). She became an associated member of CETOBaC in 2009, having started work on the ms. ÖNB mxt. 270 together with the late Gilles Veinstein and Nicolas Vatin. This research is still ongoing. Currently she is a member of the editorial committee of Turcica. From 2000 onward, she has been a member, since 2018 the president of the Wiener Archäographisches Forum https://waf.cvl.tuwien.ac.at/. Since 2017 she has been, together with Thomas Wallnig of the Institut für Österreichische Geschichtsforschung, coordinator of the project “The Oriental Outpost of the Republic of Letters. Sebastian Tengnagel (d. 1636), the Imperial Library in Vienna, and Knowledge about the Orient” (https://geschichtsforschung.univie.ac.at/forschung/oorpl/). She retired on Oct. 1st, 2021.
