Il a soutenu sa thèse a l’EHESS sous la direction de Prof. Hamit Bozarslan, intitulé “L'ingénierie Ethnique du Comité Union et Progrès et la Turcisation de l'Anatolie (1913-1918)”. Il süit ses activites académique dans plus de dix universités et  centre , qui ont différents systèmes d’éducation (France, EU’s, Allemagne et Turquie).  Sa problématique essential est d’examiner la relation entre population-identité-politique dans l’espace de l’Empire Ottoman et son successeurs (en tète la Turquie et l’Irak). Il travaille actuellement sur la politique démographique et nationaliste du Gouvernment d’AKP, surtout vis-à-vis refugiées syriennes (siginmaci).

He completed his dissertation at the EHESS in Paris, entitled “L'ingénierie Ethnique du Comité Union et Progrès et la Turcisation de l'Anatolie (1913-1918)”. He conducted his academic activities in more than ten universities and centers which have different national education systems (France, the USA, Germany and Turkey). He mainly focuses on the relationship between population-identity-politics in the Ottoman Empire, Modern Turkey and Iraq. Currently he is working on the AKP government’s population and identity policy vis-à-vis Syrian refugees (siginmaci) in Turkey.
